Epistaxis or nosebleed in layman’s terms.

In a Filipino slang, the word nosebleed means running out of English words to say or difficulty in understanding a certain subject which is not limited to languages, math problems etc. While in manga or anime, it may mean to be sexually excited or a feeling of embarrassment which has to be covered up. Metaphorically speaking, nosebleed may mean to reach incredible heights or speed.

If epistaxis/nosebleed will describe one of the cities which I have visited, this will be Zurich, Switzerland. Zurich tops the most expensive city in the world according to the Economist Intelligence Worldwide Cost of Living Survey-2012. No wonder a breakfast meal at McDonald’s for $4 in Dubai will cost $13 in Zurich! It is one of the beautiful cities I have visited but It is way too expensive for me to re-visit it again…. but if someone will treat me for an all expense-paid trip (I wish!) I will love, love, love to have another tour!

Zurich, Switzerland

Zurich, Switzerland

MEET THE CULPRIT.
My brother’s passion for travel has been contagious, and I have been a willing VICTIM:)

Photo

DUBAI

My humble abode. My bread and butter (as they say).

Who would have thought, it has almost been eight years since I set foot in Dubai. I was expecting a vast barren desert… but goodness! (i told myself) it looks like any other city and I probably could stay for 6 months to a year while I am waiting for that “job seat” back home.

I never thought I will be entangled by the city’s charm. Enthralled by the beauty of the sea, and yes, that floating 7 star hotel they called Burj Al Arab. I’ve seen how fast the city has grown, how Burj Khalifa was built, and I got caught watching… like an eight minutes motion picture but rather those minutes became years…

…and the question of leaving, to this date has been left unanswered…

WOTD: HIPPOCAMPUS

Warning! Don’t confuse Hippocampus with Hippopotamus! (Although it’s the first thing which came into my mind too!) Hippocampus is the part of the brain which is involved in memory forming organizing and storing.

Memories. Each one of us have precious or bitter events in our lives. We are unique because these events has defined us to become who we are. For me, my travels (the places and the experiences in between) has defined my being… I didn’t need a high definition SLR camera to record these events… I am thankful to be endowed with a hippocampus…

Now, let me share a <strike>piece</strike> chunk of my uneventful existence, how i developed my love for travelling and my zest to travel more!
